First you need to know what kind of eProduct you are offering your client, once you know that you need to define your audience. Is it one particular person or is it group of people? When I do my Proud Parent eProducts the video is designed for a child to play on a device that […]

She's a Mom, a wife, a pro photographer, a photo educator and she's fascinated with how to add some form of movement into the images she creates. Jessica Wallach runs Portrait Playtime in the Washington DC area and uses both a dSLR and mirrorless cameras to create images of kids, families and some commercial work. Not afraid to try anything new, Jessica is experimenting with how to use the moving images can convey the human spirit (and dogs too!).
Mirrorless cameras are smart and easy to take good pictures with, and their video quality is much better than DSLRs, but using any hybrid camera comfortably to create still photos or video files at any moment in time as a little kid zips past the lens with a joyful squeal is what Jessica's vb logs are about. Do you shoot still photos of the moment? Or is a video clip better to capture the emotion? Or both? Jessica believes that photography doesn't always have to be about the struggle to get the right images, no matter if you use all auto functions of full manual. It's the image that matters. Jessica Wallace vlogs here to set you up for success with adding the depth of movement to your pictures.
Lighting a wedding for hybrid photography is different from other photography. One needs to use all continuous light whether ambient or added so you can capture stills and video with the same lighting. Flashes and strobes would create uneven light. The lighting challenge is the same, how to provide your lens enough light to […]
I have been working on a template and they are the hybrid time saver. Here’s the idea with hybrid, we put together stills, video, audio, and some graphics. The question is how to be efficient, so Will Crockett and Movoir came up with this idea of eTemplate, 45 seconds, that’s what we get, and the […]
Carol Schlintz and I met at a Hybrid Hangout back in the fall and started talking weekly about how to move our hybrid photography forward: what had we done, what was our next steps, what was working, what else we needed to make things work. In June, she came to my sistere’s wedding and she […]
This is my very first wedding with a mirrorless camera. But this was not just any first mirrorless wedding…this was my sister’s wedding so everything had to be perfect. Not having all of the equipment that I would like to have for the shoot, Hybrid Hero Carol Schlintz came to my rescue and not only […]
Hybrid photography takes my work to the next level, it doesn’t make me a videographer or a cinematographer. My goal as a photographer is to show people as they are and stills get me pretty close, but adding motion and sounds allows me to do that even better. I was photographing a party on a […]
I recently got the Panasonic 35-100 mm lens (the equivalent to the DSLR 70-200 mm) and it allows me to come in close and create those intimate portraits I love. This is my new number one reason I love shooting with a mirrorless camera: ability to get in close with a a telephoto lens. It’s […]
I said in the Sheroe’s Google Hangout of our favorite tools for video that mine was my brain. What I meant is I think differently when I add video and audio to my sessions. My main goal as a photographer has been to show people being real while keeping me in the equation, I am […]
